Welcome to The Premises
The Premises is the work space of Masters Design graduate William Petrie. Together with his cabinet-maker he produces bespoke hardwood furniture for a variety of private and corporate clients.
Willie has developed an aesthetic through his use of native Scottish hardwood, and reclaimed exotics; as well as through his interest in the aesthetic and production values of the eighteenth and early nineteenth century makers.
Born and brought up in Moray, Scotland, he has a certain amount of classical blood in his veins as his great grandfather, Alexander Hunter Crawford was the architect of the Masonic Hall in George Street, Edinburgh. This together with a modernist training at the Edinburgh College of Art and the Royal College of Art in London informs the design of his work.
What he offers is a design and making service tailored to each client’s specific requirements, with the opportunity to have a piece of furniture made exclusively from Scottish hardwood or in exotic timer.
